Google Custom Search Engine
This tool can be easily accessed and edited through the manage section of Google Custom Search Engine. I actually did not use my custom search engine as frequently as I thought I would, but still remains a viable resource. I believe the use frequency will increase as time goes on and I am in need of a specific search engine.
I inserted nine web sites into my CSE. In addition to the five web sites I evaluated, I inserted two sites I had subscriptions to RSS feeds (Lendingtree, WSJ-Real Estate), one business site with a real estate page (Business Week), and a general business news source (Google). Here is the full list:

I defined the key words [~mortgage crisis housing] into my CSE. I didn't want the key words to be too complex, but I definitely wanted to include some. I feel this combination will effectively filter the search engine to fine the most accurate results.
Here is my Google Custom Search Engine. As you may have noticed, this CSE is also embedded on the welcome page of my wiki. I specifically added it there for your convenience as you continue to follow the mortgage industry.
